MOXIE

Fun fact: Moxie was originally marketed as a "nerve food." In theory, that was a selling point (this was long before America recognized the dangers of nerve tonics).

Moxie is an older brand with the potential for a quirky, grandpa-chic appeal to younger generations. The company's current campaigns are a more polished version of this strategy, but I did these a couple years ago and I love them, so they're goin' in the portfolio.

AND1

I loved AND1 growing up, in part because the brand was endorsed by Stephon Marbury, who played for my hometown Minnesota Timberwolves. AND1 announced in late 2014 that they were re-releasing the classic Marbury Mid, so it's nice to know I'm not the only one with a soft spot for 1990s footwear and shoot-first point guards.

With these pieces, I was trying to outline a vision of how AND1 could appeal to the next generation of basketball superstars and benchwarmers alike. The brand started as strictly streetball, but the game has changed for young players, and AND1 changes with it.
